Hi. I’m Alison.

And I’m usually on an adventure.

So I figured I might as well share them with you!

I live in the Algarve at the moment, in the sunny south of Portugal. That said, I’m originally from Cumbria in the north of England, where although beautiful, it rains a lot - and sheep probably outnumber people. My passion for travel is rooted in my upbringing (my mum is Danish) and studying languages at uni further fueled my wanderlust.

I've lived in Germany and Spain and spent extended periods in Hong Kong, Australia and Thailand. I’m a bit digitally nomadic, I guess, and now blend my love for exploration with stability in Portugal.

This blog will be a mix of travel diaries, recommendations, musings and tips for solo and dog-friendly travel, as I often take with my Portuguese rescue dog Chanel with me. I've travelled to 51 countries so far (Chanel is already up to five! haha) and I look forward to sharing some of my favourite spots with you, whether near or far.

By day, I'm a translator/subtitler working from German and Spanish into English. (And having been in Portugal for a few years now, I’m pleased to say my Portuguese is improving all the time. Bora lá!!!). Plus, these days, I also write copy and play around with AI for international brands, so if you ever need assistance in these areas, reach out!

Ciao bacalhau x
